Dr. David Parker, Curator of Dickens House, writes as follows:

        May I make corrections in the (DICKNS-L) item about
the Catherine portrait?

        There are two actually, both by Maclise, both known,
but the 1847 one only through an imperfect engraving.  I hope
it will be a long time before we receive them, since they are
being bequeathed, not given, and I wish the generous bequeathers
many more years of life.
